Construction

The OEM N54 intake uses a single disposable panel filter that both turbos must share. The ARM DCI kit gives each turbo its own dedicated filter and piping, so they can draw all the air they demand. It uses two pleated, inverted dry-media high-flow filters to increase total surface area and airflow to the N54's turbochargers. The inner neck of each filter is molded in a conical shape to further reduce resistance as air moves from the filters to the aluminum adapters and into the turbo inlets. With less restriction the turbos spool faster, with gains across much of the rev range — particularly above 5k rpm, where a full-bolt-on N54 can see as much as 20whp. The kit also opens up turbo sound: where the OEM airbox muffles the turbos, the DCI lets you hear them spool through the large inverted filters.
