ARM's N63R downpipes take the 4.4L twin-turbo V8 in your M550i to the next level. Built from full 304 stainless steel in a 3" design, they open up an incredible sound from the V8 even on the stock exhaust. Removing the OEM converters cuts back-pressure and lets the turbos breathe, so they spool faster and add power and torque across the rev range.

Construction

BMW packs everything into a tight space, and the M550i downpipes are no exception — but the factory routing already flows well, so we followed the same path with a few tweaks for smoother airflow and easier installation. The result bolts to the turbos and midpipes with factory-like precision. A mesh flex section relieves stress between the upper and lower halves of each downpipe, and to take strain off the turbos we added two brackets: an upper that secures above the flex joint to the engine block, and a lower that secures below it to the transmission housing — the same anchor points BMW designed for the factory downpipes, for a strong and lasting fit. Two O2 sensor bungs per downpipe let you reinstall the oxygen sensors in their factory locations, keeping the DME fed with the correct data to monitor fuel mixture.
