The CTS Turbo MK2 TT/TTS 2.0T direct-fit FMIC kit drops into the OEM front-mount location with zero bumper trimming or modification. The factory FMIC is fine at stock boost, but once you add an ECU tune the OEM core can no longer keep charge air temps in check — and rising temps mean boost cut and timing pull, both of which cost you power.
How a low pressure-drop core pays off
The CTS direct-fit FMIC uses a high-efficiency bar-and-plate core that cuts pressure drop, so your turbo does not have to work as hard to hit a target boost level. If the turbo makes 30psi but the intercooler has a 10psi drop, your ECU only sees 20psi. With an efficient core like this one, the turbo reaches the boost you want more easily — that means longer turbo life and cooler, denser charge air for more power at the wheels.
